Travel Break

I remember when it was first brought up that we would not have any events to work in the Summer but have two separate Women of Faith events each weekend in the Fall and our Revolve Tour in the Spring. I got really excited because I have been traveling since 2007 and never had a travel break like this. This meant I would get a break from going here - my home away from home:

But I do have to travel to Florida for a site visit tomorrow and have to stay one night, and I'm really excited about it. Who knew I could miss the chaos of an airport? It's not so much the airport, it's the getting on a plane and being in another part of the country in less than 3 hours. I think just one night will be fine on this trip and will prepare me for the busyness of the Fall when I'm gone a lot.

I have enjoyed being home and being with Brian. He's actually been traveling more this Summer so it's a fair trade. I had a co-worker ask once, "How does your spouse feel about your traveling?" and I said "I guess he's ok with it, he's in Miami right now." :) Brian and I were both traveling for work before we started dating so it's always been a part of our lives. I wonder what it will be like when we don't travel (or have the frequent flier miles) but until then, we will enjoy this time we get to do this. So I'm enjoying this break until it ends in August and I'm back on the road. And no, this is not a work break, we have been busy preparing for our Fall Season!

Now, I have to go find my suitcase...

Summer Bible Study

I'm excited that tonight I am meeting my good friends for our first night of Summer Bible Study. We are doing Ruth: Loss, Love and Legacy by Kelly Minter. We did Beth Moore's Siesta Summer Bible Study last year ( Jennifer Rothschild's Me, Myself & Lies ) and really enjoyed it so I was very happy to see what she had picked to do this summer.

I'm looking forward to diving into the book of Ruth and learning from her and her faith. I hope to learn and grow as much as possible and use it as I serve God in my life :)

The Pool

Since moving to our new place, I have enjoyed something I've never had before - access to a pool whenever I want to go! So I've tried to go as much as possible. Seriously.

The Pool:

I love inviting people to go to the pool with me and we can layout, relax and chat. If you would like to come, just let me know!

I also get to hang out with these boys at the pool:

I would love to have a pool at my house one day but I also do not know all the upkeep that is involved so that may just be a dream. So while I'm dreaming, I wanted to share some pools I've seen that are very nice and if I built my dream house, I would have one of these.

LOVE the Infinity Pool!

Nice and Big

I like something like this because I would like doors that closed in the cold and rain and opened in the warmth.

Just think this is really pretty

Our Engagement Story

Today's Show Us Your Life from Kelly's Korner is Our Engagement Story. I love telling the our engagement story because Brian worked so hard on planning it and surprising me. He did an excellent job! He flew to Tampa to surprise me and asked me to marry him on August 16, 2008. I'll never forget it as long as I live!

Click the picture to take you to Our Engagement Story

I know I took many photos of the ring on my finger so I could show all my family and friends since we weren't flying back to Texas until the next morning. He did a wonderful job at picking out the perfect ring. It was one of the best days of my life!

Road Trip

Well not for Brian and I anyway...My parents are getting ready to head out on their vacation. They are driving up the midwest and making stops at some nice places along the way.

Mt Rushmore

They will go up to Mt Rushmore and see more places like Yellowstone National Park on their trip

Yellowstone looks so beautiful

I'll be honest, while road trips don't sound too exciting for me since I am emursed in the world of airline travel and it takes less time to fly from point A to point B than drive, I would like to road trip with my parents again. Looking back, I know that I never really appreciated all the time and effort they took in planning our vacations to Colorado, Missouri, and Washington DC. Dad would have his map all ready to go and the plan in place, with mom in the passenger seat with our snacks and all things to keep us occupied and Greg, Ryan and I in the backseat trying not to get on each other's nerves (or purposely trying to make the other mad, sorry Ryan...haha).

I know I will never forget our road trip to Washington DC that my parents worked so hard for and planned very well. I think back on it and Smile and know those two weeks on the road were really a lot of fun. Do you have a road trip with family and friends that you will never forget???

Here's hoping my parents have a safe and wonderful trip - I can't wait to see their pictures when they get back!

Hipstamatic

I do like my Iphone very much and in honor of the new Iphone 4 being introduced today, I wanted to share with you my new favorite app - Hipstamatic! It does cost $1.99 but it is worth it! As most people know, I love to take pictures and this app makes your digital photos look more analog. You turn your Iphone to take the photo just like you would an old camera with film (remember those?)

I've had a lot of fun taking photos this app and I hope you do to! Here are couple of photos I have taken so far with it:

At our pool yesterday

Love this pic - we played Spoons at our family get together Sat night

And here's our nephew, Cade, at the baseball field. It was HOT!

And We Moved...

The weekend we've been planning for 2 months had come. It was time to move. Before I even begin, we want to say THANK YOU to our family and friends who came and helped us move. We could not have done it without you and appreciate all of your hard work!

Friday night, Rob came over and Brian and he loaded the U-Haul truck. Brian and I had what could be packed, packed so we started off good. Although Rob and I doubted Brian when he said we could fit everything into the U-Haul and only make one trip - Brian proved us wrong and made it happen.

Brian and his 2nd love - his flip'n'fold. He has so many t-shirts and he had the best time folding them...I do love this man :)

Friday night - So happy to not be living out of boxes anymore

Let the loading begin with The Estes Boys

Friday night, since we had put our bedroom furniture in the U-Haul, we laid the mattress on our living room floor and slept there. Not much room but we were up bright and early Saturday morning - actually Rooms To Go woke us up at 6:30am to let us know they were ready to deliver our furniture even though we told them we wouldn't be there until 8am. Good times.

Saturday morning, our furniture was delivered and everything was unloaded from the U-Haul by 10:30am - everybody was so great! I didn't take too many pics because I was making sure each box went in the right place and everything was where it needed to be. I'm hope my family still loves me even though they moved the furniture around many times so I could see which way I liked it best :)

Us in our new townhome. You can see our new furniture in the background. We love it!

Us in front of our first home

Saturday afternoon, we went back to our First Home and made sure we had everything and that it was clean. I wanted to have a picture of us in front of our first home so we can always remember where we were when we were first married. This is also the house that I lived in when we were just friends, then boyfriend/girlfriend, then fiancee's, and then husband and wife. There are so many memories that I will never forget and am forever thankful to the Haddox's for letting us start our married life at their place.

Here's to our new home and all of the new memories that will be created there :)

Cade's Baptism

Sunday morning, our nephew, Cade, was baptized! He asked Jesus to come into his heart and professed his faith when he walked the aisle on Easter morning and now was the time to show publicly his decision.

Cade's grandfather, Gary, came and baptized him! It was such a great morning with all of his family there to celebrate this moment with him!

He told us that the water was hot and that he made sure he held his nose. :)

The Estes Family

Cade, we are so proud of you and celebrate this decision you have made. We love you as our nephew and most importantly now, our Brother in Christ!
