Project: Video Organization

So while I've been working on Project: Photo Organization, I've also been trying to make sure I have all of our videos saved. We don't have a regular video camera, just our flip camera and our iPhones but with both of those, we've been able to capture all of firsts and fun moments of Mallory growing up.

I've saved our photos on Shutterfly as well as on our external hard drive - I guess I'm paranoid but I say, better safe than sorry so with the videos, I've got them all saved on our hard drive but I did upload a lot to YouTube on my private settings and have them there too in case something happened to the hard drive. Am I crazy, yes but it's been fun uploading them all and looking back at all the videos. Here are some of my favorites and I might have shed a few tears as I watched a lot of these videos for the first time in a long time.

*Note: Please excuse the crazy mom and dad voices in these videos - you know, the ones behind the camera trying to get the child to do something :)

Mallory's 1st Bath - I had no clue what I was doing but I think she's turned out ok b/c she still loves bathtime!

I love this video of my Mom singing to Mallory

Mallory saying her first word's: bye-bye. Of course she said it a million times before I got the camera out, and then it took forever for her to say it again. It always happens that way, right?

Mallory's first steps! I hate that it was so dark but I'm so glad we got it on video.

Everyone singing to Mallory at her first birthday party

Mallory at the library. We loved going with Lyndsey, Liam, Tracey and Max. I never knew what she was going to do and as you can tell, at the end of the video, I say uh-oh because she found a sippy cup in someone's purse

And lately, more bath time fun. Hi!!

There's some of my favorites - of course there are many more but I figured those would just be the ones I would like to look at over and over :) I love watching old movies of me and my brothers growing up and I hope Mallory will like to look back on these when she's older too!

2012 Year in Review

2012: You were an amazing year! We got to watch our daughter grow and learn so many new things. I'm thankful for this blog that allows me to document our memories. I know I say the word celebrate many many times but it's true, we celebrated a lot of firsts and new things this year, so... here is our 2012 Year in Review!

January

First, I can't believe how little she looks in this picture. Time flies so fast! Back to the year in review, Mallory finally got her first tooth at the beginning of January.

At the end of January, we dedicated our daughter Mallory at our church. It was a wonderful day and were joined by family and friends for this special moment.

February

At the beginning of February, I left my job at Women of Faith after 5 1/2 years. I'm so grateful for the friendships made but definitely looked forward to spending time with my baby girl.

Mallory celebrated her first Valentine's Day with her friends Karlyn, Liam and her favorite guy: Daddy.

March

Mallory celebrated her first St. Patrick's Day. The picture on the left is probably one of my favorite pictures of Mallory because that is her personality to a T.

Brian celebrated his 32nd birthday! We are posing with new yard tools he got for his birthday for our new house.

April

Yes, our new house! So much happened at the beginning of the month including...

Buying our first home!

Celebrating our 3 year anniversary

Celebrating Mallory's first Easter

Celebrating that Mallory finally crawled. We knew it would happen eventually but on April 5, it clicked and she took off.

May

And about a month later on May 5, she started walking and never looked back!

I celebrated my first Mother's Day as this precious girl's Mom

Our beautiful daughter turned 1 Year Old!

June

I worked our church's VBS and Mallory attended in the nursery.

Brian celebrated his 2nd Father's Day

We took a family vacation to Ruidoso, NM and had a great time with our family!

July

Our family together on the 4th of July

I celebrated my 30th birthday!

August

We enjoyed watching the Olympics during the day and night. We cheered on the USA and Mallory begin practicing for her gymnastics debut

Our began my new job as an aide at a middle school. It was hard to go back to work but God has blessed me with a good job that allows me to still have a good amount of time each day with Mallory. She also has wonderful people keeping her while Brian and I are at work. We are so thankful.

September

In September we had our most frightening moment as parents. Mallory was taken to the ER due to a severe allergic reaction. We've gotten some answers but will continue to try and get more answers so this doesn't happen again if we can help it.

We did get to celebrate Brian and his deacon ordination. We are so proud of him and it was such a special night!

October

Our beautiful Minnie Mouse and friends and family at Halloween

November

In Daddy's hunting gear as he got everything out to prepare for duck hunting season

We celebrated Thanksgiving with our amazing family

December

We had a very busy month in December but I loved every minute of it. We were able to do so many Christmas activites and it was fun to see Christmas now through a child's eyes. And this Santa pic will be displayed at our house at Christmas for many years to come :)

And we had a White Christmas! How fun is that???

God has blessed us with another wonderful year. I try to cherish each moment with my family because we are not promised tomorrow. I pray 2013 will bring Him all the glory!

Goodbye 2012, thank you for the memories!

Mallory is 10 Months Old!

Mallory is 10 Months Old!

Weight

estimating around 21 lbs

Height

27 inches

Diapers

Still hanging in the 3's

Clothes

Wearing some 9 month clothes but 12 month fit best

Eating

You have 3 bottles - when you wake up, before your afternoon nap and before bedtime. Sometimes you get one after your nap but we've been having juice/water from the sippy cup lately. You are getting the sippy cup down but still want to play with it more than drink from it. You tried a lot of new foods this month, mostly whatever we were eating for dinner. You like oatmeal, waffles, scrambled egg, blueberries, green beans, string cheese, any bread and of course, you still love your Cheerios. I do think you are 90% Cherrios, 10% other food but at least your cholesterol will be good :)

Sleeping

You are doing better than last month but now that you decide you want to roll back over to your stomach at night, it's helped. You still wake up a couple of times but things are getting better. You still go to bed around 8:30pm - 9:00pm and get up around 8:00 am. You do much better when you have your morning nap and your afternoon nap is down to about 1 hour & 1/2 now that when you wake up, you want to sit up and play in your crib. I walked in Monday and you were standing in the crib waiting for me - crib is being lowered now :) I was convinced last week that you required no sleep to function because one of us was tired and that was me!

Other fun things

You want to stand and walk all of the time. You will walk around the coffee table, exercauser, walk along the couch, behind your walker toy, anywhere you can hold onto and go, you will. I wish we had more room because when you are walking behind your toy and you come to a wall or place where you can't go anymore, you get mad because you just want to keep going. You are wanting to crawl but I do think you will walk by yourself before you crawl and that's ok. Sometimes you can pull yourself up and sometimes you can't get that last push to get up but you try so hard!

No new teeth that I can feel yet, you don't let me check very often so I have to do a clean sweep when I can. You love playing with your two bottom teeth though. Either your finger is on them or your tongue is playing with them. You still are the drool master too. All. The. Time.

You still talk all the time and still very loud for all to here. Your laugh is contagious. We can't help but laugh when you laugh because it is so cute. You say "dada" and "bye-bye" non-stop and wave at everybody and everything. You like to give "high-fives" too. You love it when someone sings Patty Cakes and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star! I love singing it to you!!

Look at you Grow!

Our Valentine's Day

Mallory's 1st Valentine's Day was so much fun! We had a great day and I'm so glad I got to be with her!

This is our shirt we got for Valentine's Day. It says "My Heart belongs to Daddy" which is so true. She always smiles when she sees him. I laugh because this is the best picture I could get - she really didn't care to smile for the camera yesterday morning.

We started out by going to the library and saw our friends there

Not sure what she and Liam are looking at but it must be interesting

Afterwards, we set up a play date with Liam & Karlyn

Love these three cuties! They still don't know what to think of three mommas trying to get a good picture. If I could only hear what they are thinking right now

Valentine's Day treats for the kiddos

After the fun with friends, we got ready to spend the evening with Daddy.

I made Brian's favorite cake in a heart shape. He didn't believe I carved the heart shape and that is wasn't heart shaped pans haha

Mallory got a card and a book from Mom and Dad. She also got some Valentine's day treats!

Brian brought home dinner

Can't go wrong with pizza and breadsticks

And we spent the rest of the evening loving on our sweet Valentine, Mallory

As you can tell, we don't have a tripod so this is our family portrait. I'll take it!

It was a great day!

Mallory is 8 Months Old!

Mallory is 8 Months Old!

Weight

18 lbs, 10 oz

Height

25 1/2 inches (estimate)

Diapers

Size 3 still fit perfectly

Clothes

Mostly wearing 6-9 or 9 month clothes, but some 6 month clothes still fit

Feedings

You are still loving all the new foods. You would eat puffs all day if I let you but we do try to throw some nutritional stuff in there from time to time :) Along with your bottles you are eating all kinds of veggies and fruits and depending on what Brian and I are eating, you try things off our plate. It's so fun to see you try new things!

Sleeping

Well, with teething and RSV, you haven't been the best sleeper in the world but it's understandable. You still like your morning nap but your afternoon naps aren't as long as they used to be. Depending on the day, there might be a late afternoon nap. You still like to sleep on your stomach. You are an early bird and like to get up early hence, why you like a morning nap.

Other fun things

You have two bottom teeth! It was hard work to get them there but they are there! You will clap your hands when we say "Yay Mallory" because we are clapping for you so you try to do the same thing. You still have no interest in crawling but you like to stand up. We watch Wheel of Fortune every night because you love the colors and watching the wheel spin :)

Look at you Grow!

Happy 8 Months Mallory! We Love You!
