Brian's Deacon Ordination

September 26th, Wednesday night, Brian was ordained as a deacon of our church. It was a wonderful evening and we were so proud of Brian. Many of our family and friends were able to come and be there for this special evening for Brian.

Brian was one of 5 men ordained. One of the other men was our friend, Robert. Brian's known him for a long time and I know he's practically family to him so it was great to see them both be ordained at the same time.

I didn't take many pictures during the ordination but I grabbed a few with my iPhone just so we would have them to remember this night for Brian.

One special part of the ordination service is when the deacons pray over the newly ordained deacons. I snapped pictures of three men that are very special to Brian praying with  him. The first picture is of our Sunday School teacher, Phil Rawley praying with Brian. Brian and he have formed a great bond and Brian respects him a lot. The second picture is Brent Donham praying with Brian. Brent was a former college SS teacher of Brian's and a great friend and mentor. The third picture is of Joe Pecina praying with Brian. You guessed it. Joe is a former SS teacher of Brian's (when we were single and dating) and another friend and mentor of his.

After the ordination, there was a reception after for the men and their family and friends who had come.

Brian with Ken & Margi Foley. Brian worked with Ken and still works with Margi. They surprised him by coming and he was so glad they were there.

Brian and Cooper. Cooper & Jill also surprised Brian by coming. Cooper had fball practice but asked to leave early so they could make it to the ordination. Thank you Crowells!

Brian and our SS teacher Phil. He got chocolate cake just for Brian for the reception :)

We have amazing friends and we also have an amazing family who came to celebrate with Brian

Brian's family. Kam decided to pull up a chair for the family picture. And the littlest family member, Emmaline, is in her seat in the back.
