2016 - the year that I knew my baby girl would start Kindergarten. It seemed so far away in 2011 but now here we are! Thursday, April 7 our school had Kindergarten Round-Up so students could get registered for the 2016-2017 school year.
Every time we've talked about Kindergarten, Mallory has had mixed emotions. She says she's excited to be a "schoolager" (that is what they call the kids that come to her daycare after school is over) but she's sad she won't see her preschool friends and teachers. A couple of days before the round-up, we drove by her school so she could see it and she loved seeing three playgrounds and wanted to go inside. We told her we would go on Thursday so by the time it was time to go to the school, she was pretty excited.
Ready to go!
Right before we entered, we took another photo. She was ready to go inside!
We went to the library and as soon as we walked in we saw my friend and her daughter that I didn't know would go to the same school as Mallory. Having her friend there was great and I was glad she had someone to be with. Mallory will also get to go the same school as her friend, Layla, so she's excited about that too!
We checked in and then they had a scavenger hunt for each of the students to find certain rooms in the school. We walked around with our friends who have a son that already goes to the school so he showed us all around. We saw the gym, the music room and some of the Kindergarten rooms.
When we left, she had the biggest smile on her face. She told us she is so excited about Kindergarten now so hopefully she feels the same way come August!
