2015 Emerson Family Christmas/Vow Renewal

Sunday afternoon, we celebrated Christmas with all my grandmother, aunts, uncles and cousins on my Mom's side of the family. I always look forward to getting together with everyone for Christmas but I was additionally excited this year because my Dad planned to surprise my mom with renewing their vows since Sunday was their 40th anniversary!

We got there and got all the food put out and then my uncle instructed my mom to come over and he talked about it being their anniversary. Then, he instructed my brothers, Brian, me, my sister-in-laws and grandkids to come stand up with Mom and Dad. I know my mom was so surprised. It was so special! I had the biggest smile on my face the whole time! I loved getting to share in this with my parents!

My Uncle Paul married them 40 years ago and lead them in their vow renewal. So neat!

Uncle Paul leading us in prayer in thankfulness for Mom and Dad and their 40 years together! I love this picture of my parents and their children and grandchildren all praying alongside them.

I love these two so much!

Flashback to December 20, 1975

This is a picture of all the people who were at their wedding 40 years ago

The Bradley/Estes families

After all that fun, it was time to eat and for Christmas presents with the family!  When it was time for the kids to open their presents, these 5 cousins were all ready!

All the great-grandkids

We did a book exchange this year and Mallory was a little bit excited about her books :)

My cousin Chris and his wife Shannon just built a new house so it was so nice to have our Christmas in their new home. It is so pretty and it was beautifully decorated!

After the kids and Mamaw opened their gifts, we did the white elephant gifts for the adults

I love that one of the white elephant gifts was crabs :)

We had a lot of fun with the white elephant exchange.  We got a slinky and we were thrilled! I hadn't had one in forever so Mallory and I've been playing with it!

I love getting pics of my grandmother with her grandkids and this one of her and Jensen is so sweet!

And at the end of the night, these two were by each other. Love them!

It was such a wonderful time to celebrate my parents and to celebrate Christmas with our family!

My husband and I could not be happier with our decision to hold our wedding at New York wedding venues. We had a fusion wedding, which was complex and involved many moving parts, and we were in expert hands with their manager, our day-of coordinator (as well as the rest of the staff).
