Dinner at Reunion Tower

Yesterday was my 31st birthday! How did I get that old??? I was so overwhelmed with all the birthday calls, texts, tweets, facebook posts, etc... Thank you everybody! Since my birthday was on Sunday, I just figured I needed to celebrate all weekend so it started out wonderfully Friday!

Early last week, Brian told me that I didn't need to make plans for Friday night, he was going to take me out to an early birthday dinner. So, all week I was looking forward to Friday night. He didn't tell me where we were going and kept saying it was a surprise. I'll be honest, I'm not the best at being surprised. I'm always the one planning the surprise so it was weird being on the other end. It also didn't help that most everybody at our work knew where we were going except me! They did a good job at keeping it a secret!

At work on Friday, Brian surprised me with this beautiful arrangement from Edible Arrangements

I love chocolate covered strawberries! I don't have a green thumb and my flowers usually die fast so this is a much better idea for me! Truth!

After work, I headed home to get ready for our dinner. Brian just told me to wear a dress and that reservations were at 7:30 pm. When I asked him what he was wearing, he said what he wore that past Sunday. So, I was thinking, ok, he's wearing jeans and polo - wrong, he had the Deacon's Senior Singles Banquet that Sunday night and he said he was wearing his white collared shirt and black pants. So, I pulled out the little black dress!

We left and headed to dinner. I knew we weren't eating in our town, I just didn't know what town we were eating in. We drove into downtown Dallas and the next thing I knew, we were parking at Reunion Tower! I was so excited! For years, we've driven by and I've said, I'd love to go up there someday and eat at the restaurant! I guess Brian heard me and did a great job at surprising me.

It had rained earlier in the day on Friday but thankfully, the skies cleared up and we had a beautiful clear sky

All spruced up ready to eat!

Dinner was fabulous! The restaurant is Five Sixty by Wolfgang Puck. I ordered sushi and Brian ordered steak and I ate some of it too! We decided just to order one entree so we wouldn't break the bank! My sushi was so delicious and Brian's steak was amazing too! It definitely did not disappoint!

The food was great but just as wonderful was the view. We got to see all of Dallas during dinner as the sun was setting. You can feel the restaurant moving but it's nothing to make you sick. It rotates a full 360 degrees every hour. It was really neat.

This was our view as dinner ended. Beautiful!

That night was so fun and I loved the all Brian did to surprise me! We had a great time and now, I can't say I've never been there!
