Just the Two of Us

It's the beginning of January which means Brian heads to Arkansas for 4 days/3 nights to duck hunt with his friend Jay. So what's a girl to do when she's going to be home along with her child that long, we packed up and headed to Papa and Nana's house :). I love my child but it is nice to have an extra set of hands sometimes.

We stayed there 2 nights and enjoyed being with my Mom and Dad. Mallory loves being at my parents house so she was thrilled to be there.

Three generations. Dad watched football in the living room so we watched Mickey Mouse in the bedroom as we got Mallory ready for bed. So thankful for my parents!

Friday morning, we headed back home. I wanted to get as much done (laundry, cleaning, etc...) on Friday so I could enjoy relaxing on Saturday and Sunday before the work week starts again. But before that, when we got home, we got a visit from my best friend Julie and her daughter Emmalyn. The little girls exchange presents and we hadn't seen each other until now to do presents.

Emmalyn loves VeggieTales so we got her a new DVD and Mallory got a Scentsy pal which is a dog. She really liked it!

Then these two friends got Mallory's drums and started playing some good (loud) music

Friday night, I took my dinner date out to a nice spot: McDonalds.

She loves the play place at our McDonalds in town so I let her play and play and play. She even went down the slide by herself and thought she was big stuff. I loved seeing the big smile on her face.

After dinner, we headed home and we made chocoalte chip cookies.

She and I split one and they were yummy!

After our dessert, I got Mallory ready for bed and we snuggled while watching Tarzan. It was a really fun night together and I enjoyed every second of it! I can't wait for many more girl's nights together.

We did miss Brian for sure and can't wait to see him when he gets home today!
