We've Only Just Begun

It's been a busy couple of days. Even though I've been on bed rest, I have been busy working from the couch and going to see the Dr. And here we are. I went back to the Dr on Wed morning and before I left I prayed for peace with whatever my Dr would say bed rest wise.

We went and everything came back good, however, my blood pressure is still high when I'm up. Dang you Hypertension!!! So, I was told - Bed Rest until Delivery. Even though I had an idea it was coming, it was still hard to hear. Once we got back in the truck and got home, I let myself have a good cry. I just needed to do it because I was sad but do know that it is all for mine and my child's health. My BP is much lower when I'm resting - especially on my left side so that's what I'll do until she comes. As much as a change it is for me, it also is for Brian. He has always helped out with chores but now he has to do a lot more and I'm very thankful for him. Our family and friends have also been so gracious - stopping by to say hi, offering to drive me to the few places I get to go, etc...

Thankfully, she said I could still work from home so that is still good. I'm grateful to my job to allow me to do this but it has been hard not seeing my co-workers day to day. The thought of not going back into the office until after my maternity leave is over boggles my mind but that's where we are at.

I also had to get a steriod shot yesterday and today just in case I did need to deliver before Mallory is full term. The Dr does not see that happening but just wants to be cautious. It helps her lungs develop and this was honestly the first time I have had two shots in my hips in a very long time. No cute bandaid or sucker after but that's ok :) We also got to have a sonogram of Mallory today so I got some cute new pictures. She's beautiful and my Dr said all 2.5 lbs of her looks Wonderful which makes all the resting worth it.

Love this sono pic of Mallory and her fist in the air. She does not like it when the sono tech tries to get pics of her :)

Like I've said before, I know God has a plan and I have so much to learn while I'm resting. I've learned already that I want to be a better prayer warrior. I have a good prayer time during my quiet time but I just feel that I need to be better at that so if you have anything you need prayer for, please let me know. I'm open to seeing what else God can use me for from the couch/bed.

Thank you all for your kind words, thoughts and prayers. I know it's all worth it in the end.

I did want to end this blog on a fun note - I found this cartoon and it made me laugh because it's so true. I have my little desk set up by the couch with my lap top, work stuff, bottled water, carmex, etc... all the stuff to survive without getting up. However, I'm not watching soap operas - no thank you :)

I'm so sorry that you have to be on bed rest. Just remember that you have lots of friends ready to take you places, bring you snacks and be a shoulder to cry on if needed!

See you tonight!

I am so sorry to hear about the permanent bed rest, but you are right - it will be so worth it! You have a really good attitude about it though so I know you'll be just fine! Rest up!!
