Doctor's Orders

The past couple of days have been eventful to say the least. Yesterday, I headed off to the Dr for my gestational diabetes test. Gotta love that glucose drink. Honestly, it wasn't that bad but anyway. I thought I would just go in, drink the drink, have my blood taken and then be on my way. I thought. However, when I got there, they took my blood pressure and it was high so my Dr told me she wanted to test a couple of more times before I left to see if went down. It didn't. This is the first time in my life I have ever had high blood pressure so it was news to me.

My doctor told me I needed to go to Baylor Dallas for observation to see if my blood pressure would go down. Brian was in California so I called my parents and my Mom came with me. I felt so bad because Brian was sad he was so far away but I told him not to worry. Mom and I went to Baylor Dallas and I got a preview of what my stay would be like when I go in to have Mallory. Nice Green Gown. I'll be styling!

They hooked me up to the machines and monitored Mallory and I for about 2 1/2 hours. My blood pressure went down dramatically and all of my labs came back good. I was so glad and starving because I hadn't eaten anything since the night before. So Mom, Dad and I left, got something to eat and headed home. I stayed with them last night so I could relax and they took good care of me!

I had to go in today to get another BP reading and Brian had made it back and went with me. Unfortunately, it was high again. What??? So the verdict is: I'm on doctor's orders to be on bed rest all weekend. I have another appt on Monday morning and if it is still high, we will go from there. I could be on bed rest until June. Weird to type that but I'm doing what I can to rest.

The thought of being on bed rest boggles my mind but I do know this is happening for a reason. God wants me to rest and this is how He is telling me to do it. He is in control and I know that! I covet your prayers and everybody be updating your blogs because I'll need something to read!

Have a great weekend!
