Kansas City, MO

I'm back! 1 conference down and 27 to go! I won't be going to all of them but it was a great start to the season! I got to KC Thursday afternoon and went straight to the Sprint Center. Of the many arenas I have been to, this one is one of the nicest ones we've been too. It is one of the newer ones too. It was pretty cold so there wasn't much sight-seeing. My time in KC was either in the hotel or at the arena so there aren't many pics - sorry!

My highlight of the weekend was meeting Steven Curtis Chapman - what a great man! His set Friday night was great. He plays the video to "Cinderella" as he sings it and there was not a dry eye in the arena. I got to tell him that we were playing his songs at our wedding and we talked about the upcoming WoF season! I can't wait for you to hear him! I also got to meet his manager and master blogger - Jim Houser! I told him what a blog freak I was and that I read his and he was as nice as could be.

Friday and Saturday went by very fast and I didn't get to see too much of the conference but I'm looking forward to listening to the speakers again. Saturday after the conference was over, our Event Planner, Mika and I rushed to the airport to try to catch an earlier flight home. We were scheduled to fly at 9pm to Dallas Sat night but there was a 6pm flight we really wanted on. I felt like the family on "Home Alone" running through the airport - I think I might have hit a lady on the way...I prayed for forgiveness! Good news is we made it on the plane at 5:50pm and were back in Dallas by 7:30 pm - Home Sweet Home!

And there was a wonderful surprise waiting for me when I got back - Brian, Rob and Stephanie drove to Love Field to meet and greet me! I was so surprised and sooooooo happy! They are the best! It's great to be home and even greater to be home and greeted by family! We all went to eat at The Spaghetti Warehouse and then I went home and crashed!

It was a great weekend and I'm looking forward to the many conference weekends to come! The fun thing was everybody knew that this was my last weekend as Amanda Bradley - next time I see them in Des Moines in May, I will be Amanda Estes :-)

Thursday night there were fireworks outside our hotel room!
