Holly Lake Ranch - Memorial Day Weekend Part 1

Friday after work, Rob, Stephanie, Caleb, Cade, Brian & I headed to Holly Lake Ranch for 2 nights. I had a wonderful time! On the way down, we stopped at the Dairy Queen - love the chicken finger basket! Cade rode with Brian and I and he tried to stay awake the whole time but he was so "ascited" (excited in Cade's words), he fell asleep before we got there so I got to wake him up to tell him we were there. It was a nice cabin with a great bathtub (with jets) and comfortable beds. Brian got the pull-out couch and I know he enjoyed that.

Saturday was a full and fantastic day! It started out with Rob and Brian cooking us breakfast. They did a very good job - thank you boys. Then, it was off to play tennis with Cade's new tennis racket he received for his birthday. I've been telling him we would go play so we got to play on the courts at Holly Lake. He and Caleb both did very well and we had a good time. It was very hot so we decided after sweating a lot at tennis, it was time to jump in the pool. The water was very cold at first but got better once you got in for a while. We stayed at the pool for a couple of hours and had so much fun. And everyone got a little sun! After swimming, it was back to the cabin for a rest and then we were up and off to play putt-putt. After the 9-hole putt-putt course, we picked up our pizza. Back at the cabin we enjoyed our dinner and had a wonderful, relaxing Saturday evening!

Sunday morning, Rob fixed us cinnamon rolls - delicious and we packed up to leave :-(. Brian and I had to go to Colleyville for my niece's first birthday party (more to come about that in part 2). It was a quick trip but a really great one. I was so happy just to get out of Rockwall for a little while and I got to go with Brian and his family which made it even better!
