Weekend Wrap-Up: March 21 - 23, 2014

Happy Monday friends!

Friday evening, I attended our church's Women's Retreat at the Hilton. We've been planning for this event for a couple of months so it was exciting to see it finally all come together. I'm sad I didn't take some more pictures but the speakers, Shelli Littleton and Shawn Baxter (pictured below) both did a wonderful job on speaking on our theme "Stumbling Blocks to Stepping Stones."  I learned so much and am so thankful for their openness and honesty about some of the stumbling blocks in their lives. I'm also thankful I got to enjoy this event with my friend, Melody. We had a good time chatting it up during dinner and then again Saturday morning, during breakfast. Grateful for her friendship!

When I got home Friday night from the retreat, I was excited that my college was still playing their NCAA Tournament game against VCU and then was ecstatic when they won in Overtime!! I was texting, tweeting, etc... my excitement!  It was such a big deal for our school and so thrilling that they won!

Saturday morning was the second part of the retreat so I got to enjoy the time with the sweet ladies from our church again. After the retreat was over, I headed home for a little bit and then we headed to a sip'n'see for my former co-worker, Breanna and her newly adopted daughter, Madeline.

Mallory fell asleep on the way so she was slow to talk to some of my friends when we first got there but in no time, she came out of her shell and was dancing while Breanna opened the presents. It was so wonderful to see all of  my Women of Faith friends. I love that we can still celebrate big milestones in our lives together. I miss them dearly and even though many of us have moved onto different jobs, we always just pick up right where we left off when get together again. Mallory loved all of Momma's friends and I love that she just sat my former Finance Director, Lara's, lap like she had known her forever.

Brian drove us to the sip'n'see and went to Cabela's while we were there. He came to pick us up after it was over and we headed for dinner at Dave and Busters.

After we were done eating, we headed to play. Brian and I competed against each other on the basketball shooting game. We tied so neither of us got to brag about winning. Mallory played a couple of games and then Brian wanted to try to win a toy for Mallory in the toy machine with the claw. On his second try, he won her a green lion. And Mallory thought it was the best thing ever! They were both so excited!

We went to church on Sunday and I was thankful I had Sunday afternoon to take a nap and all three of us took a nap! It was glorious! SFA played in their 2nd NCAA game of the weekend so I put on my SFA shirt to cheer my Lumberjacks on!

Unfortunately, they lost but it was so fun to see them in the tournament!

And that's a wrap!

Sorry to hear your team lost, but you look so cute in that tee!

I love reading about your fun family weekends, and I share your excitement for family naps!
