Closeness

Happy Friday!! I think this week has gone on for long enough - time for the weekend!

I know that I've written how grateful I am for our family but this week I just really stopped and really thanked God for the family we have. I mean, you don't get to choose what family you are born into correct? Now, I know our family loves Brian and I but ever since Mallory has been born, I know we've been replaced lol. And I'm fine with that :) I'm especially thankful that I live close to my parents and Brian's family. I wish I lived closer to my brothers and their families and maybe one day that will happen but we try to see each other as often as we can and I look forward to when we do that - like this weekend!

I was the child that was very ready to move out when it was time to go to college (and I'm sure my parents were ready to have a break from me - I know I wasn't the easiest child to deal with growing up :) ) but once I got to college, I did realize how much I did miss my parents and I loved coming home to see them. And now that Mallory's entered the world, having them close has been the best. My dad keeps her a couple of days a month, my parents pick her up from daycare if work makes me run late sometimes and I am so so so appreciative for that but what I love the most is the relationship they will have with Mallory as she grows up. I'm pretty sure her first word will be "Nana" just because my mom always says it to her and Mallory smiles every time. I really hope that Mallory will have a tight bond with her Nana and Papa!

I honestly don't know what I would have done without my Mom and my sister-in-law, Stephanie when Mallory was born. Stephanie texted me and came over often to make sure I was doing ok and to love on her niece. There were times she would watch her just so I could get some sleep and get some rest. She's answered many questions and been the best encouragement when we would have a long night with Mallory. I love she gets to grow up with her cousins Cade & Caleb close so they can be her big brothers and protect her from when boys come her way :)

We love living close to the rest of Brian's family too! Brian's Aunt Pam loves to keep Mallory and while we do love the daycare that Mallory goes to 3 times a week, it's also nice having family keep your little one. She offers to keep Mallory and I know they have a great time when they are together!

We love all of our family soooooo much and we love getting together to see them when we can including this weekend! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
