Staycation

I'm back and happy to be back! I took a staycation for the past couple of days. I will be traveling more in the fall so I took a couple of days off to relax before the busy season ahead. Since Brian and I went on vacation in April, we decided we would just have a staycation this past weekend. We decided just to do a couple of things around Dallas that we usually don't do and still sleep in our bed at night! It was a great idea and we had a great time!

We started Friday night at Texas Roadhouse, can't go wrong with that. Saturday morning we woke up and headed over to Dallas to do some shopping. Brian got a shirt and I got some lovely jewelry from Sam Moon!

After our purchases, we headed over to SpeedZone. Brian and I were very excited about it b/c we hadn't been to a fun place like that in a while. We got there and found the go-carts and had a great time driving the go-carts around the track. Brian and I are also very competitive when it comes to games, so we played the games inside like Basketball, Skee-ball, Air Hockey, etc...

Our Go-Cart Track

Brian in his Go-Cart - we had a fun time racing!

Counting our tickets at the ticket station

With all our tickets we got a box of Hot Tamales, a Jolly Rancher pop and two Army men for my younger brother to have - Congrats Ryan!

After SpeedZone, we went to the Studio Movie Grill in Plano to see "The Proposal" We hadn't been there before and it was fun to eat your meal and enjoy the movie at the same time. And the movie was funny also. I would recommend it!

Sunday, we relaxed and did nothing. We definitely took it as a Day of Rest. We slept in and then I made pancakes, sausage and bacon for us. We used our griddle for the first time and LOVE IT! After doing a lot of nothing, I decided I needed to do something so I decided to bake a cake! I got to use my new cake dome for the first time!

Sausage & pancakes on the Griddle, Breakfast was yummy!

Brian got a hold of the camera; I was concentrating very hard on icing the cake

The finished product - hopefully my Mom is proud!

All in all our Staycation was fabulous - good food, fun and relaxation. Just what we needed!

Well I am glad you didnt tell everybody that you beat me at just about every game we played except trivia. I did win that one. Also you didnt tell everybody how you laughed at me when I got spun out on the go karts. I was just trying not to let those kids pass you.
