Weekend Wrap-up

What a fabulous weekend! This is very long but worth reading :-) It was busy but it was great - full of baseball, family and friends! Friday night was really nice b/c I took it easy and relaxed before the busy weekend. I did laundry, made a dessert (yes, that's right!) and watched August Rush. It was good I watched the movie by myself b/c I might have cried a couple of times, make that weeped, b/c you just wanted to hug the little boy in this movie!

Saturday, I was up at 7:30 am and Brian and I went to Caleb's baseball game at 8:30 am. Caleb did very well and got a hit everytime he batted. Must be the Estes' genes. After his game, Brian, Caleb and I headed to McDonalds for breakfast. There is nothing like a Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Biscuit from Mickey D's. Simply Amazing! Caleb loved his Sausage Burritos too. We were both finished with our food before Brian started on his breakfast - sorry, we couldn't wait - we were hungry.

Then, it was off to Cade's game at 11:30 am. He played two games at 11:30 am and at 2:15 pm. Brian and I went to Rob and Stephanie's in between games and I got a power nap! Cade started out out the first game playing catcher - his favorite position! Brian's cousin Jensen plays on Cade's team too so it's fun getting to see his famliy at the games too. Good times.

Saturday evening, we went to The Jalapeno Tree to eat with Brian's family for Mother's Day. It was Kam, Pam, Kate, Gran, Buddy, Jim, Laurie, Kennedy, Layne, Jensen, Brian and me and the Green Sauce was fantastic! To make it even better - you get a free Ice Cream cone - that's right, I got a chocolate/vanilla swirl ice cream cone! I was very happy! It was a great dinner to cap off a great day!

Sunday - Happy Mother's Day! It was off to church and I'm pretty sure God handpicked the sermon and the Sunday School lesson for me. Bro. Steve preached on how to handle the tests God gives us in life. Our Sunday School lesson was on Communcation and although it was my major in college - it is something I'm not good at too many times. Sometimes I over-communicate and other times, I keep things bottled up and don't communicate at all - which is not good. It's something I'm really working on so hopefully I will improve on it!

Sunday evening, Brian and I went to my parent's house to celebrate Mother's Day. Greg, Melody, Kiersi and Kayden were there and while Kayden was not real happy to see me (in fact she screamed and cried when I picked her up) we all had a great time! Kiersi and I got the sidewalk chalk and really decorated Mom and Dad's back porch. I forgot how much fun that was so I had a great time writing everybody's names :-)

We ordered pizza and hung out and had a great time. Ryan had to work so he and Kate couldn't come in. They were missed! Mom made out pretty good this Mother's Day! Dad bought her an Ipod Shuffle and I got her an ITunes gift card. After giving her a lesson on how to download songs, I think she is good to go! We left about 9pm and that concluded the weekend. I look back over this weekend and realized how blessed I truly am!

Me and my Mother
I just have to say this in closing...I am very blessed by the Mother God has give me. I know growing up we didn't always get along but as I've grown up we have become close and she is not only my mother but one of my closest friends. She is the perfect example of the Proverbs 31 woman and has shown me what it truly means to be a Christian woman, wife and mother. Mom, I love you - Happy Mother's Day :-)
