Hello! My name is Amanda and I'm 30. There I said it. Or typed it. Not sure if I've actually said it outloud yet - Ha! I turned 30 on Saturday and 30 has been great to me so far! I honestly wasn't very upset about turning 30 - I don't feel 30. I may look 30 but I don't think I do so if I do, please don't tell me :) I knew this day was coming since 2012 began because I remember thinking when I was younger, I'll be 30 in 2012 - it's so far away. And here we are or were. And I can't wait to see what 30 and the thirties hold!
On Friday, Mallory and I went to the library for our library class and then instead of going to our usual McDonalds with friends, Lyndsey called me the day before and said our friend Tracey and her son Max wanted to go swimming after library so we could just come to her house, eat pizza and then go swimming. I said Ok when she called but when I woke up Friday morning, I was sure if we were going to go. If you read my blog post below about the week, I didn't know if I wanted to take Mallory to the pool again because she is everywhere and kept wanting to walk to the big pool and I didn't want to have to chase her everywhere ( I did want to go be with our friends, don't get me wrong ) anyway, Brian told me to go and have fun and I did. And when we got to Lyndsey's house, I saw this:
Lyndsey and Tracey surprised me with lunch and cake. So sweet!
Yummy Red Velvet Birthday Bundt Cake!
While we ate yummy lasagna, Lyndsey had food ready for the kiddos and they ate at their own table.
Yes, Mallory is eating Liam's food - ha!
After eating the great lunch and delicious cake, the kids played and us mommas talked and I loved it! It was so fun. Thank you Lyndsey and Tracey for the surprise!
Saturday morning, my birthday, Brian and Mallory went and got us Chiloso for breakfast. Love their breakfast tacos! Brian told me to be ready to go at 1:40 pm. I laughed at the prompt time he gave me but after lounging around watching Tarzan with Mallory, I was ready to go on-time!
He didn't tell me where he was taking me but I guessed when we exited, it was Texas Roadhouse. We love Texas Roadhouse and I wanted to use my birthday coupon there but I thought we were going there that night. When we got there, I saw my family and friends there. It was so fun!
Love my man for planning this surprise!!
My pretty girl and my Mom
Papa and Eva :)
Loved my cake and Mallory helped me blow the candles out ( or just leaned over with me! )
I had the best time! The lunch was so good and the dessert was great too. I got some wonderful, sweet gifts! I'm so blessed to have the best family and friends! Thanks for coming!
Saturday night, my parents wanted to keep Mallory so Brian and I could go out. We were still so full from eating earlier so we decided to go bowling. We hadn't been in a long time so we took our young selves out to bowl
I don't think we will be hitting the Pro Bowling tour anytime soon but we had fun. I was just happy to get 100. As you can tell, it took us a while to get in the groove!
After bowling, we decided we needed to get dessert.
I got a Cake'n'Shake from Cold Stone. It was heaven.
It was an amazing birthday weekend! I received so many birthday calls, texts, messages and tweets. Yall definitely know how to make a girl feel loved!!
My prayer is that this year, God will use me and I will make His name known in all I say and do!
Will and I love bowling too (even though we are no good). We should all go sometime! I'm glad you had such a fun day! And good job Brian for planning a surprise lunch for you! What a nice hubby!
